LIGHTS on the Goulburn is lighting up Seymour this weekend, celebrating the winter solstice with a spectacular light display.
The event will be held from 5pm to 9pm on Saturday night at Seymour’s Goulburn Park. As the sun sets, the park will come to life with light projections and illuminated spaces, alongside family-friendly activities including a community lantern parade. It’s a relaxed and welcoming evening for people of all ages to gather and enjoy a winter’s night.
A whole host of options is available for the community to enjoy on the night, including light illuminations and projections, family-friendly activities, and food trucks.
There will also be a community lantern parade. Participation in the event is optional, but also open to the community, which can be handmade, or collected through an LED tea light at 4.45pm.
Patrons are reminded to rug up, to bring a blanket and a chair, and that it is an alcohol-free event
The one-off event has been created to help support efforts after the recent bushfires and floods to help rebuild the community connection and recovery.
The full parade program and timing will be released on the Mitchell Shire website during the week.
