SEYMOUR’S netballers had reason to celebrate on the weekend, claiming the B-reserve premiership at Shepparton’s Deakin Reserve on Sunday.
The Lions turned the tables on Shepparton United at the right time of the year, especially so after having to navigate their way to the grand final the long way around after losing to United in the second semi-final.
On grand final day, Seymour jumped Shepparton United, scoring 11 goals to four in the first quarter, and led by 10 goals at the main break, 20-10.
The Lions held station in the third quarter, scoring seven goals to eight to continue to lead 27-18 at the final change, and in a low-scoring final term, the Lions did enough to eventually run away with a 33-21 victory.
Mia Allen scored 17 goals, while Chloe Locke added 12 and Madison Richards four.
Locke was awarded the best on court medal for her efforts.
