KILMORE Golf Club had a day out on Thursday, holding its annual Gordon Howells Challenge Bowl which attracted 59 visiting ladies players from around the area.
It was the first time in club history that the bowl was played on the ‘Short Course’ which dropped close to 10-14 shots for some of the ladies.
The day was set out so more women can meet new faces, playing in groups of three with ladies from other clubs, but continuing to score with members from their original club.
The hosts won the tournament with 96 Stableford points between three players, in front of Lancefield on a countback from Normanby Park and Woodend.
The Kilmore team consisted of Sandy Wicking, Helen Dennett and Robyn Mcpherson who all made sure of the home course advantage, narrowly winning the day.
The club held a lunch afterwards with awards and raffles given out, making a great day for everyone involved.
The course looks in great condition thanks to hard work from and the short course seemed to have been a huge success for the ladies.
The day concludes a huge couple of weeks at the club, which also held the Kilmore Toyota Golf Day which was also a fantastic success.
