WHILE footy and netball season has now come to an end, teams are celebrating best and fairests and wasting no time with new signings.
Seymour celebrated a successful 2026 season last week, with Dylan Cook claiming a well-deserved senior football best and fairest gong, winning from Nic Quigg and Jack Murphy.
Ally Black took the A-grade netball best and fairest, winning from Elle Nexhip.
Kilmore also celebrated its best and fairest recently, with Chris Barton claiming the best and fairest medal in the men’s competition from Caleb Newport and Lachlan Chesher.
In the women’s football competition, Chiara Nardo took the best and fairest for the Blues after finishing second in the league count, while Shazi Cappello finished second and Jenaya Stewart third.
The Blues have also wasted no time making another big signing, landing Jaxson Kinnear from Romsey for 2027.
Kinnear returns to the club after three years at the Redbacks, having already played over 100 games for the Blues, and will look to add more key position depth for the Blues in season 2027.
Broadford is also on the recruiting front, landing a trio of Laurimar talls for its second season in the Bendigo Football Netball League in 2027.
The Kangaroos landed the Power’s games record holder, Josh Leather, for 2027, who had previously won a grand final best on ground medallion in 2023.
Big man Ethan Bateman will also make his way to the club as a ruckman/key defender, while Jacob Bateman will also play for the Kangaroos in 2027.
At Lancefield, the club announced Ciara Stewart will continue as the Tigers’ A and B grade coach in 2027, but Cash Ferguson will step away from the senior women’s job in 2027.
