CONSTRUCTION of a new ‘missing link’ footpath and pedestrian crossing along Seymour’s Bishop Street gets underway in two weeks time, causing some interruptions in the area.
The project aims to address a missing footpath connection between Wallis and Elizabeth Streets and improve the accessibility, connectivity and safety for residents and visitors.
Works will take place between 7am and 5pm from Monday to Friday and will take between 4-6 weeks to complete.
The area which will be upgraded runs parallel to key retail infrastructure including Seymour Central and Aldi.
Road closures may impact the site during the construction period, which begins on October 12. Detours will be in place via Elizabeth Street, High Street, Wallis Street and Tallarook Street.
The Mitchell Shire Council said residents and businesses will be notified should a potential disruption of access to their properties need to occur.
