The Seymour Agricultural Show weekend was a success, with a free fireworks event lighting up Kings Park for all to see, and great weather shining down on attendees on Saturday.
On Friday afternoon, the gates officially opened and excited children raced in to see the colourful carnival rides up close, with the dodgem cars, the Krakin, and the carnival bungee jump popular choices for adventurous ticket holders.
Tallarook-based band The Skerricks played popular cover songs and the evening ended with a spectacular bang and explosion of colour.
Inside the show pavilions, traditional and contemporary creative types of all ages and abilities entered their baking, needlework, photography, and LEGO masterpieces, and their dream catcher category was no exception.
Seymour resident Bev Spargo won first prize for her creation.
“It only took me a couple of hours. Once you have all the materials on hand it’s easy,” she said.

The equestrian ring included brumbies for the very first time, while the Clydesdales, pony club competitions, and side saddle events entertained attendees.
Event Manager Pam Beerens said this was her eighth show, and she was pleased with the two-day event.
“The weather held off until 3.30pm [Saturday] and by then everything was done,” she said.
“We are a small number of people [running the show] and we could do with some more volunteers on the day or in the lead up.”
It’s never too soon to get involved in next year’s show. For more information, call Pam Beerens on 0422 058 213 or email secretary@seymouragshow.org.au.
