BROADFORD Secondary College VCAL students and Broadford Primary School foundation students have partnered together to deliver a regular morning reading program.
The program was put forward to the primary school by VCAL students, who wanted to strengthen relationships between the two schools.
They thought there was no better way to interact with the foundation students to help in the classrooms, something the foundation teachers was pleased to implement in their regular timetables.

Broadford Primary School foundation teacher Sam Warren said they were delighted to have the Broadford Secondary College students come into their classrooms.
“The energy, enthusiasm and passion for reading has already made an impression on our students and they really look forward to their visits each week,” she said.

The VCAL students meet with the Foundation students three days a week, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, on a rotating roster and are hoping to extend collaboration through other activities including African drumming.
