THE State Government has announced more than $31 million in funding for emergency services volunteers through the Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program (VESEP).
Country Fire Authorities (CFA) and Victoria State Emergency Services (VICSES) across the Macedon Ranges and Mitchell Shires are expected to benefit from the program, which provides grants up to $250,000 to support frontline capability and safety.
VESEP funding can be used to purchase vehicles, equipment, technology upgrades and improvements to stations or facilities for volunteer organisations including the CFA and VICSES.
State Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas welcomed the announcement.
“This funding backs the volunteers who put themselves on the line for our community, making sure they have the equipment and facilities they need to keep people safe.”
“I encourage local volunteer organisations to apply and take advantage of this record investment.”
Local community CFA stations in Beveridge, Broadford, Pyalong, Romsey, Seymour and Wallan have previously received funding through the VESEP, as well as the SES unit in Seymour.
Applications for the 2026-27 round of VESEP funding open on Thursday, April 16, and close on Thursday, June 11.
