Police are investigating the cause of several damage incidents to businesses in Kilmore.

It is alleged that at 6.30pm last Tuesday, three businesses in Kilmore were struck with a projectile object causing damage to their shop fronts.

Though the exact cause of the incident remains unknown, police have confirmed the damage is not from a bullet.

Manager of the Rotary Recycle Op Shop Lisa Walker stated it was likely the projectile was a loose screw, flicked off by a moving vehicle.

“It’s not a gunshot, it’s a screw from a truck or a vehicle going past,” she said.

“The police have confirmed it is not a bullet hole, but when they were here [another business mentioned they’ve] had a couple over the time that’s the same – stuff flicking off the road.”

Anyone with information, dash cam, or CCTV is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
