LANCEFIELD was firing last Saturday night with the community welcomed to an affordable event at the Mechanics Institute.

Members of the Deep Creek Landcare group held the event which was under $10 for adults and it sold out completely marking a huge success for the group.

The night was held thanks to many sponsors of the group, mainly all being local businesses, who donated vouchers, wine and beer all for the raffle.

Proceeds of the raffle went to the Macedon Ranges Wildlife Network, who help injured animals and get them back into the wild healthy.

The night featured three separate dances, a small supper in between with speeches and the raffle, and was accompanied by a band named The Drongo and the Crow.

It was a fantastic little community event which brought out families looking for a relaxing cheap social night, helping raise awareness and boost membership numbers for the land care group.

The group hold working bee’s, tree projects and other special little nights to help the community.

They had a cake for the celebrations of 40 years of Landcare in Victoria.
