LANCEFIELD went down in the RDFNL senior women’s grand final on Saturday as Macedon dominated.

Shakira Parker kicked three of the first six, with Charlotte Noonan also joining in on the fun, kicking her first.

In the second, it was continued dominance by the Cats in front of a huge crowd at Tony Clarke Reserve.

Noonan had her fourth for the day already, while Lancefield struggled, but were able to put a goal on the board thanks to Meaghan Lyons late in the quarter.

In the third, Noonan added another two to the total, pushing it to six goals, Ruby Watts was dominant around the ground.

She was named in the best players more than anyone in the league across the season, proving her case for another potential league medal.

The third quarter ended with a 78-9 scoreline, and the Lancefield coach asked for one more quarter of effort for the year from the girls.

The final term was the Tigers best for the day, as they controlled more of the footy around the ground thanks to llkes of Lilly Bromley and Sienna Green.

They kicked a goal early in the term and celebrated hard, having plenty in the crowd for the clash.

But overall, Macedon continued to hit the scoreboard, Charlotte Noonan kicked her sixth for the day and the final siren blew at 92-16.

Taya Konias won the best on ground medal for her dominant performance both on the scoreboard and around the ground.

It is a huge win for Macedon, who continue to be the best of the bunch in the RDFNL, going undefeated all season and thrashing in the grand final.

In a positive note for Lancefield, it was great to see them late in the season, with a burst of culture on the sidelines still extremely happy to be involved on the last day of the year.

They showed great sportsmanship throughout the closing periods of the game and finished the day with a lot of respect for their year that included eight wins and four losses, all to Macedon.

There is plenty to look forward to next year, with potential reports of the Wallan and Sunbury Lions women’s side potentially joining the RDFNL, alongside more teams who will grow with numbers.

It will shape for a great competition in 2027, with Macedon looking to do the unthinkable and win four in a row.
