BROADFORD have had their most successful day of the year so far, with multiple wins and other points coming in the netball.

The Seniors football have been marked on the losers list again in the seniors football against Castlemaine on the weekend, but it was one of their stronger performances from a scoreboard point of view.

Castlemaine kept the Kangaroos scoreless until deep into the first, where Broadford skipper Adam Miles kicked their first goal of the day thanks to a nice snap across the body.

GREAT DAY: Broadford find two wins across on Saturday plus a draw in the A grade netball.

The Magpies would then dominate the vast majority of the ball, kicking the next 11 goals across the next quarter and a half, before Broadford kicked another one in the third quarter to finish off the term on a positive note.

It was 103 points the margin at the final break, but an unfortunate last quarter for the Kangas left the total margin at 148, finishing the game at 27-175.

A final quarter goal went to Isaac Smithwick for his second of the day and he was named in the best player sfor his performance alongside Owen Sloan, Ryder Primrose, Ben Thompson, Jay Eager and Harry Behan.

The reserves football team lost by 55 points, 21-76, and Jabe Brown, Matt Dunbar, David Hussey, Sam Ray, Zac Brown and Sean Duggan were all named in the best.

While in the under 18s, Castlemaine got the job done by 112 points in a 16-128 result.

The A grade netball had their best result for the year so far, drawing against Castlemaine in one of the great games for the year.

Both teams were left on 37 by the end of full time, splitting the points.

A fantastic scene at the B grade game, saw Broadford thrash the Magpeis by 31 points.

It’s a fantastic result for the club, and marks the third win for the strongest team in Broadford for year.

In the B reserve, they also featured in a 42-39 win, marking their first for the season as a group.

Unfortunately they went down in the Under-17s, but looking back, they would be wrapped with the performances from netball sides.

A spark of future brightness for Broadford who are looking to retain and gain as much talent for the next couple of years as they continue to develop.
