Trawool has been named a finalist in the TAC Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards, under the Tiny Towns Category.
Trawool is within the rolling hills of the Mitchell Shire, offering a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle to the artistic installations along the Great Victorian Rail Trail.
Mitchell Shire Councillor Mayor Louise Bannister said council was incredibly proud Trawool had been named a finalist in the awards that celebrate regional destinations and showcase the value of tourism and communities across Victoria.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and collaboration of our local businesses and community members,” she said.
“Being a finalist showcases Trawool’s unique charm and the unforgettable experiences it offers to visitors.
“Thank you to our local businesses for supporting our entry. Be sure to visit and support Trawool Estate, Trawool Shed – Café, Cottages and Restaurant, Brave Goose Vineyard, Rambling Wine Tours, and Seasonal Concepts next time you are in town.”
As part of the nomination process, council collaborated with businesses to create a compelling entry, which included photography, a two-minute promotional video, a two-day itinerary, and an editorial piece showcasing the unique charm of Trawool.
Council urges everyone to support Trawool by voting and sharing the news with friends and family.
“We encourage everyone to cast their votes for Trawool. Public support is crucial, and your vote can make a significant difference in putting our beautiful town on the map,” Ms Bannister said.
Public votes count towards 25 points of the overall score, making community support integral to Trawool’s success.
Voters will also have the chance to win a luxurious weekend for two in Melbourne, which includes a two-night stay at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, a $500 restaurant voucher, and additional experiences.
Voting closes on June 24.
