A RESIDENTIAL community in Melbourne’s bustling north has celebrated a major milestone with the opening of two new recreational parks for residents and locals alike to enjoy.
Lovicks Road Park and Dartmouth Park, located in the Lyndarum North masterplanned community in Wollert, feature more than two hectares of combined green, open space – delivering much needed accessible recreational amenities to the growing community.
With demand for community infrastructure on the rise due to the region’s growing population, AVID General Manager Victoria Penny Forrest said the park openings could not have come at a better time.
“Parks are at the heart of all our communities, so we are very pleased to have reached this milestone at Lyndarum North and see our residents enjoying our new parks already – including at our recent park opening events, which saw hundreds of locals come together to celebrate the new spaces,” she said.
“Wollert and Lyndarum North have seen significant expansion over the past few years, and the delivery of this key community infrastructure has ensured local families can get outdoors, meet their neighbours and build lasting connections without having to leave their neighbourhood.
“Both parks have been thoughtfully designed to bring neighbours together, offering spaces for all ages to enjoy – whether it be after school gatherings, birthday celebrations, playground visits or even exercise.”
On completion, Lyndarum North will feature 23 hectares of open spaces and natural landscapes with all homes located within walking distance of a park or green space.
