The Combined Probus Club of Whittlesea recently held their December meeting in a heartwarming celebration of the festive season.
Members were treated to a delightful performance by the students of St Mary’s Whittlesea Parish Primary School, under the guidance of Deputy Principal Marim Elia.
The 20 young performers brought Christmas cheer with renditions of both traditional and contemporary Christmas songs. The student’s spirited performance of Do you hear what I hear? and other beloved carols, including the lively Jingle bells filled the room with festive joy.
Organiser Teresa Carlin captured the moment with a group photograph of the students, who were each given a bag of treats in appreciation of their performance.
Principal Phillip Smith, who authorised the student’s participation, was also presented with a bag of goodies. The students received a warm round of applause before heading back to school.
After the performance, members enjoyed a festive meal at Epping RSL’s Battalion Bar and Bistro. The dinner featured a traditional Christmas roast, complemented by a choice of desserts, including plum pudding, fruit salad, and ice cream—a perfect way to cap off the seasonal gathering.
Looking ahead, members will reconvene in February 2025, with a meeting scheduled for Monday, February 3. Local Finance Advisor Ryan James will be on hand to provide valuable insights on maximising age pensions, understanding new superannuation rules, and offering guidance on estate planning.
The club’s Annual General Meeting in March will include the election of new office bearers, with current Vice-President Greg Eddy expected to take on the leadership role. Nominees for other positions will also be voted on by members.
