With 85 local and regional producers this Saturday’s market promises to be a bumper occasion.
Regular stall holders, Holy Goat Cheese, continues on despite all efforts to dry goats off and wind down the production of cheese. Carla and Ann-Marie are still milking and producing their internationally acclaimed goat’s cheeses, so this Saturday is an opportunity for shoppers to have another last taste of their Holy Goat favourites.
Ian and Mandy McClaren of Yapunyah Meadow Grazed Chickens at Graytown are back with succulent real deal outdoor free-ranging chickens and cuts for the table. Michelle Wilkinson of Avenel Mushrooms is expected to return after a challenging time with power supply affecting production for the Euroa region.
Hilary Jankelson of Husk and Harvest walnuts at Redesdale is making her return after a slow start to the season with rain delaying harvest this year. Mowatt’s Scottish Foods of Sunbury have officially closed their retail store in Evans Street and are solely trading at farmers markets and their online store to sell their produce.
The farmers’ market is happening as part of the Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival and is celebrating local performers Lucy Watson, Helen Keenan and Rexine Perry this month at the east end lunch area.
Seating is available for these three performances alongside Thermomix demonstrations at 10am and 11am. A visit from “The Gardeners” to the market is sure to delight young and old.
