THE Lancefield women’s team defeated the Riddells Creek Bombers last Friday night.

The Tigers sit second in the small, four-team competition and came up against a Riddells Creek team who were forced to forfeit last week due to a lack of numbers.

They went into the Friday night clash with only 13 players on the roster compared to Lancefield’s 19.

Although Riddell are one spot below their opposition on the ladder, they’re still a fair way off the top two sides with only one win to their name this year.

The Friday night game was hosted by the Tigers at Lancefield Park on a cold but relatively good night for footy.

Lancefield jumped out of the blocks kicking the first four goals in the game keeping the Bombers scoreless at the first break.

Riddell seemed to have found a little bit in the second term kicking its first scores of the game, but the Tigers were far too dominant in a predicted fixture.

The 40-7 half time lead was basically expected from the pre-game and the scoring continued to sway towards the Tigers forward line as they once again kept Riddell scoreless in the third to put themselves up 58-7 at the final break.

They then finished out the game kicking two more goals in the last to bring the final score to 70-8.

Rebecca Agar kicked three on the night for the Tigers and Lily North pounced on two herself.

They were both named in the best alongside Molly Libardi, Alice Bromley, Sienna Green and Esme Keen.
