WHAT a night it was in Whittlesea on Saturday as the community packed out the streets for the Whittlesea Fire Brigade Torchlight March.
Thousands of people looked on at multiple fire groups from around the community who participated in the march to celebrate 100 years of the Whittlesea Volunteer Fire Brigade.
Whittlesea has battled many fires over the last 100 years, and the captain of the brigade was extremely grateful to see so many people their in celebration.
Awards were handed out on the night for the top three best marching teams, which was taken out by Diamond Creek.
They also had junior marching contest which featured multiple junior teams as well.
It was a fantastic event and genuinely good to see so many people in attendance at the brigade afterwards, sharing stories, meeting new people and bringing a real community sense to the town.
The brigade took to social media to say thanks to the community.
