The Mitchell Christian Fellowship’s Kidz Klub will host their mini-Olympics event over the summer school holidays.

For one week only, the event, based in Kilmore, will feature both indoor and outdoor games, Olympic-themed craft, and Christian activities and songs.

With 20 children already registered, Kidz Klub Organiser Rachel Coome invited families to book their spot before tickets ran out.

“Spots are limited to 50, and registrations close on January 1, 2025. We don’t want anyone to miss out,” she said.

Families can rest assured that their children will be well looked after, with all leaders boasting Working with Children Checks, while a qualified first aider will also be in attendance.

Food preparation will be completed under the supervision of those with Safe Food Handling Certificates.

Lunch and snacks will be provided, or participants can bring their own. The cost is $10 per child or $25 per family, per day.

The mini-Olympics event starts on Monday, January 6, and finishes on Friday, January 10, 2025. Participants will meet at the Kilmore Soldier’s Memorial Hall, 14 Sydney Street, Kilmore, prior to 9am, and the program will finish at 3.30pm.

To make inquiries, call Rachel Coome on 0435 176 863 or scan the QR code to register.

After-school fun

During school terms, the club also runs after-school games and craft activities while teaching Christian songs and stories to children between 5-13 years old, though the age restrictions are flexible.

“Children transitioning between kindergarten and secondary education are welcome,” Ms Coome said.

“The activities are free, or with a gold coin donation. We provide afternoon tea, and the children can have free time at the beginning and the end [of Kidz Klub].”

The after-school activities will return next year on Tuesdays during the school term between 3.30pm–5pm, at the Senior Citizens Centre, 7 Sydney Street, Kilmore
