A small concert venue in bushland near Broadford has been putting on concerts for 14 years with Australian and international artists.
This secluded hidden forest property is home to refined classical music featuring top performers in their fields. There is a tendency towards Baroque music, which is not surprising given that the curator of the concerts, Peter Hagen, is a fine concert artist on the harpsichord giving solo recitals, as well as inviting the best musicians to collaborate with him over the years.
Sometimes he even bows out to allow other fine musicians to perform there, and on November 24 at 4pm, he will do exactly that, welcoming the Orpheus Trio back to his little concert hall in a sumptuous romantic programme of Beethoven and Mendelssohn trios.
A very fine concert grand piano forming part of the collection of instruments there will be used by the trio. Long standing members of this established trio, Kaori Sparks on violin, Helena Kernaghan on piano, and Sam Goble on cello, have recorded CDs and performed throughout regional Victoria and New South Wales. They are passionate advocates for music in the regions, and as such they are warmly appreciated wherever they perform.
The venue has free parking and complementary drinks served by supportive boutique vigneron Mike Boudry of Nagambie Terrace and Moon Wines. There is always time for a chat with the musicians afterwards in a convivial atmosphere of wine and conversation.
Booking is essential and further information including of the venue is on https://www.trybooking.com/CPKQA.
Tickets are $45 if booked by this Thursday, November 14. For more information, email peterr@peterhagen.com.au.
