The Jet Roofing Kilmore Pacing Cup drew large crowds to the Kilmore Racing track last Friday night.
The flash new barn was alive with the sights and sounds of Country Harness Racing at its best.
The lights went on for the first race at 6pm, a 2180M track, and it was number 2 Layden who finished first with sulky driver James Herbertson not far behind.
The racing continued into the night until the punters finally called it quits after race 8 finished around 10pm.
Earlier, the bohemian market drew large crowds and glorious weather, and stall holders visited from as far afield as Belgrave.
The market is organised by Good Vibrations Bohemian Bulla Market and around 300 shoppers browsed the stalls for free.
The market showcased handmade and imported products, including fantasy tree houses, candles, crystals, clothing, jewellery, and with Christmas just around the corner, one stall holder showcased handmade decorations in every colour combination, and another her decorated fruit cakes with royal icing and Christmas themed ribbons and cake toppers.
Patrons brought a picnic and spread out on the green lawn near trackside with friends and family, while some brought tasty treats and beverages from the food vans, and others chose on-course dining from the Trackside bistro menu.
Busker and pan flute player Jose Dias entertained the shoppers with new and familiar tunes, including a rendition of ABBA’S hit Chiquitita.
The Kilmore Twilight market will return on Saturday, November 30, from 12pm–5pm at Trackside, while the next Kilmore harness racing event will be held on Thursday, October 10.
