Local sporting man Mark Muscat has been nominated for the Westfield Local Heroes grant.
The grant, which provides the winning finalist’s organisation with a $20,000 grant and remaining finalists’ organisations a $5000 grant, seeks to recognise and celebrate those who dedicate their lives to the betterment of their communities and the environment.
A dedicated Operations Manager and Sports Trainer for the South Morang Football Netball Club, Muscat has been nominated for his passion and dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive sporting environment. Guiding over 400 players and 70 volunteers, Muscat’s commitment is felt both on and off the field, highly respected by those both inside and outside of the Club.
If successful, Muscat plans to use the grant to attract more female players to the Club by subsidising fees and uniforms, with remaining funds to be allocated to upgrading the Club’s facilities.
Westfield Plenty Valley Centre Manager Elizabeth Pimperl was thrilled to announce the area’s finalists.
“We’re excited to announce the 2024 Westfield Local Heroes finalists and invite our customers to take a couple of minutes to cast their vote for members of our community who are doing so much for others,” she said
