Applications are now open for City of Whittlesea’s annual art exhibition, with this year’s theme ‘Hope: Exploring the Spectrum of Possibility’.

The theme invites artists to explore all aspects of hope, from the mundane to the inspiring, to truly encapsulate the spectrum that hope, in all its forms, exists on.

“Artists are invited to reflect on hope, from feeling low to very positive, from personal wishes to collective or shared goals, and all the moments in between,” Council said.

“Show us your visions of a better future, your dreams of a perfect world, and your hopes for change. How does hope guide us? How does it help us stay strong during tough times? How does it make us resilient? Does hope last forever? Is hope what makes us human? How do you show and respond to this in your art?”

Applications are open to artists of all ages and experiences, with all art mediums, materials, processes, practices, and interpretations welcomed.

Entries close Monday, November 18.
