A sculpture installed along the Kilmore Community Bank Walking Trail has been stolen.
Earlier this month, thieves vandalised and stole a $3000 kookaburra created and donated by local artist Chris Anderson, which had been displayed at the start of the walking trail for almost a year.
While Mr Anderson is yet to file a police report, he is calling on the public for any information regarding its whereabouts and is offering a reward for its return.
“I would very much like to see the sculpture returned and would pay a reward to anybody who can make that happen,” he said.
“With any luck, the people who stole it would have been too lazy to carry it all the way home and decided to carelessly throw it on the ground without realising its value.
“My sculptures are a way for me to find peace with dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), so I have a strong connection with each piece I create. [While] I am glad that the public got to enjoy my creation for at least a little while, I hope that it turns up eventually so it can be restored.
“Children and the young at heart especially connect with my animal and bird sculptures, and I have enjoyed seeing them enjoyed by all.”
Anyone with information is urged to call Chris on 0457 079 230 or email artychrisaustralia@gmail.com.
