Peeling three wide off a one/one passage on the final bend with Trembita leading, Ooh Ah Listah finished best to just get there by a half head from John McLean in a thrilling finish. Major Assassin ran on late for third, 3.5 metres away. The mile rate was 1-59.1.

Ecklin South trainer Marg Lee snared the quinella in The Don Dove Memorial Pace for fillies over the same trip with Keayang Blue Jeans defeating Keayang Honey Joy by 1.6 metres in 1-56.6.

Starting from the extreme draw, Keayang Blue Jeans settled with most of the field ahead of her as Keayang Honey Joy went forward at the start to assume control.

With reinsman Lochie Cook shifting down to the sprint lane approaching the home turn after Mystique Stride galloped, Keayang Blue Jeans charged home to blouse her stablemate by 1.6 metres, with the favourite Surfingmakescents 2.8 metres back in third place.

The 2180-metre Hero Retirement Planning Month race opened the night, in which astute Rochester Mark Thompson’s much-improved four-year-old Guaranteed-Witchwaywendy gelding blitzed his rivals after flying away from gate four to lead throughout.

He recorded a 9.5-metre margin in a two-minute mile rate, from Ima Popstar a mile back and Alistair Lavros.

Lee brought up a double after four-year-old Roll With Joe-Melita mare Joelita scored in the Jet Roofing Pace over 2180 metres. The mile rate 2-00.3.

The 2150-metre Buds and Branches Florist Trotters Handicap was a blowout for quaddie punters when four-year-old Father Patrick-Social Fireball mare A Cool Investment, trained at Modewarra by Ron Comden and driven by John Caldow, scored in a close finish.

Enjoying a sweet passage from 10 metres trailing the leader Mumstheword, Acool Investment used the sprint lane to gain the day by a half head from Herecomeskyvalley. You Really Got Me was third 2.2 metres away. The mile rate 2-06.4.

Sunbury’s Shane Taylor, training out of the Ahmed Taiba property, landed the Carlton and United Breweries Pace over 1690 metres with Thunder Beach, a four-year-old daughter of Sunshine Beach and Perfect Ideal.

Driven by Nathan Jack, Thunder Beach spent most of the race three pegs from the pole as Kyloan Queen led from gate five.

Using the sprint lane, Thunder Beach finished full of running to prevail by a neck from Playnice six wide in the straight from last, with Kyloan Queen holding third a half head away. The mile rate 2-00.3.

The $8000 Broadstead Kilmore 3Y0 Trotters Mobile over 2180 metres went to the Tubbs/Sugars team, with Aldebaran Eagle-Stoned Till Dawn filly Dichotomy recording a tough victory.

Despite racing in the open from gate six for the entire trip, Dichotomy, driven by Greg, was too strong for her rivals, scoring by a head in 2-02.9 from Majestic Tooth along the sprint lane, off the back of the leader Ess Kay Hollywood who held third, 8.5 metres back.

The 1690-metre Hip Pocket Workwear 2Y0 Vicbred Maiden Pace over 1690 metres was the most exciting race of the night going to Captaintreacherous-Stay and Play filly Danger Play trained and driven by Byrneside’s Laura Crossland paying TAB fixed odds of $81.

Peeling five wide in the straight from three back in the running line outside Rocknroll Raider, Danger Play registered a 1.7-metre victory over Look Like Diamonds from last, with Rocknroll Raider third 2.8 metres away third with the trio swamping the leaders.

The Tubbs/Sugars combine brought up a double following the victory of Tunbridge, a half-sister to Dichotomy, by Volstead, in the Tellurian Wines 2Y0 Maiden Trotters Mobile over 2180 metres. Both winners are raced by Jess and mother Cate.

Bendigo’s Ellen Tormey bookended the program after winning the 2180-metre MC Security 2Y0 Maiden Trotters Mobile aboard Bagshot trainer Mary-Jane Mifsud’s Majestic Son-Arannalea filly Majestic Ga Ga. The $19 winner scored by four metres in a rate of 2-05.9.
