THE fixture for the Gisborne District Cricket Association’s McIntyre Cup has been released.
An action-packed opening round sees all three local teams in action, with Eastern Hill participating in the competition for the first time, while Wallan and Romsey will look to move up the ladder this season.
Eastern Hill faces a tricky task in its first game in the competition, travelling to Gilbert Gordon Reserve to take on last season’s premiers, Woodend, in a battle between the McIntyre Cup and Johnstone Shield champions.
The Eagles’ first home game will be in round two when they host Romsey at Kings Park.
After surviving relegation last year, Wallan will be out to attack the 2026/27 season with confidence, hosting Macedon in its first game of the season at Greenhill Reserve.
Wallan hosts Eastern Hill in round three, while the Magpies will open their two-day season with a trip to Romsey in round five.
Meantime, Romsey will travel to Langama Park to take on Sunbury United after elimination in the semi-finals last season.
The opening round will be held on Saturday, October 3.
A fixture for the Johnstone Shield, where Kilmore, Lancefield and Broadford will take part, was due to be released shortly, according to the Gisborne District Cricket Association.
