Two games went ahead in Johnstone Shield, with Broadford on top after the opening day’s play against Eynesbury.
Broadford’s bowlers got on top of the Eagles’ lineup, with Jeremy Bradshaw bowling sensationally to claim 3/10 off eight overs, while the tireless Nathan Woods also cashed in to take 3/35 off 18 overs. Sikander Sharma took 2/20 and Braden Hickey added 2/23 as Broadford bowled Eynesbury out for 133.
The men in red and black will need a further 98 runs to claim the points, negotiating the final 13 overs of the day to score 0/36.

Eastern Hill are in prime position to taste victory for the first time in the top grade, needing 37 runs with eight wickets in hand after an outstanding day at Kings Park against Macedon.
Jack Kennedy and Max Fulton combined to leave Macedon reeling at 2/0 early on, and things did not get better for the Cats, with Ben Brown soon weaving some magic with the ball to take 4/5 off 11.3 overs, a fabulous spell which included eight maidens.
Fulton took 2/11, while Kennedy took 2/29 as the Cats were bowled out for 72.
