BROADFORD is officially reunited with a plaque that went missing for multiple years near the playground on the main street.

The plaque was initially put in place back in April 1995 marking the newly placed fence around the playground.

It was put there by the Apex Club, which unfortunately doesn’t exist today, but reminds locals of the groups history and involvement around Broadford.

The Review wrote an article back in 1995, celebrating the new fence and its opening.

The article quoted the Apex president at the time, Anthony O’Dwyer, who also was the one who paved the original plaque back into the ground last week.

The fence was put in place to keep young children safe from the busy High Street and was built by money raised from service and recycling.

A little bit of history, that is now returned home.
