The graph shows that McDonald’s has consistently led the four restaurants in Australian search interest over that period.

Interestingly, December appears to be a common time for searches to rise, with all four companies attracting increased interest during the summer holidays.

KFC sits in second place behind McDonald’s but has only overtaken its archrival once during the period, in May 2023.

Subway’s search interest has remained relatively steady at the lower end of the graph.

Meanwhile, Hungry Jack’s, the Australian version of Burger King, consistently holds third place — perhaps attracting those who believe the burgers are better.

Within the City of Whittlesea, the top two fast food restaurants have 14 combined locations, including 9 McDonald’s across the region.
