MITCHELL Shire Council are ramping up discussions with state and federal governments to help progress infrastructure and services, revealing five discussions with sitting members during the week.

In one day, Council was able to benefit from discussions with State Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn, State Minister for Environment Enver Erdogan, State Member for Yan Yean Lauren Kathage, State Member for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland and Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell.

The discussions centred around five key points – increasing access to local health services, completing road connections, including the John Street Link and Tootle Street intersection, the proposal of a new secondary school in Kilmore, investment in early education and progression of the Wallan Wallan Regional Parkland.

“Our message was clear: Mitchell communities deserve access to the roads, schools, health services, education facilities and open spaces they need,” Council wrote on social media.

“Council will continue working across all levels of government to make sure our community’s priorities are heard and to secure the investment Mitchell needs.”
