Council paves way for improvement of intersection

IMPROVEMENTS to the intersection of Epping Road and Boundary Road appears imminent, with the City of Whittlesea announcing it has acquired a piece of land next to the intersection’s roundabout.

The announcement was made on April 8, saying that the process which began on October 7 last year was successful.

“The Whittlesea City Council declares that by this notice it acquires the following interest in a part of the land described as Lot 1 on Title Plan TP143564P, being a part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 9936 Folio 906 and situated at 495 Epping Road, Wollert, Vic 3750 as shown hatched on the plan,” it said.

“Interest acquired: That of Murat Arli and Mine Arli (as registered proprietors) and all other interests.

“The acquisition is made pursuant to section 112 of the Local Government Act 2020 for the purpose of road improvements to facilitate the upgrade of the intersection at Epping Road and Boundary Road in Wollert.

“A notice of intention to acquire the interest in the land was served on 7 October 2025.”

The works due to start on the intersection of Epping Road, Boundary Road and Bridge Inn Road will add to the works that have been completed on High Street and Epping Road. These works started in January 2025 and were completed in January 2026.

The previous works saw lanes from magic dashMemorial Avenue to Craigieburn Road East increase from one to three, while shared-use paths were installed, as were improvements for five significant intersections.
