THE Australian lightweight champion now belongs to the Mitchell Shire, with Jesse ‘Tip Rat’ Bolt making history by becoming the man they’re all chasing on Saturday night after defeating Ziyee Lee.
‘Tip Rat’ made history for the House of Stoush Boxing Academy, becoming the gym’s first ever Australian champion, and cementing the Wallan gym’s status as one of Australia’s best.
A strong liver shot, followed by a sharp left hand, meant ‘Tip Rat’ stopped Lee via TKO to take home the Australian championship.
The win takes ‘Tip Rat’s’ professional record to 5-0, which includes the Victorian State Silver title, the Victorian State Gold title, and now the Australian champion, following an incredible amateur and junior career, which also included an Australian championship.
Speaking on social media, House of Stoush proclaimed ‘Tip Rat’ as having the sky as his limit.
“Congratulations to Jesse on becoming the Australian Professional Lightweight Champion, making history as our gym’s first professional Australian Champion,” they wrote.
“After an outstanding amateur career that included winning an Australian National Championship, Jesse has carried that success into the professional ranks. At just 21 years old, he’s now 5-0 and has an incredibly bright future ahead of him. The sky is truly the limit.
“This was exactly the type of fight Jesse needed. He was pushed by a quality, tough opponent who gave him valuable rounds and ring time that he hadn’t experienced in his previous professional bouts. Those hard rounds will only make him a better fighter as he continues to develop.”
On the undercard, House of Stoush also had a terrific night, with Trav Clare moving to 2-0 with a second-round stoppage, while Danny Doolan also won in the second round to move to 2-0. Bajram Bajramoski also took a first-round win on his professional debut.
