THE City of Whittlesea has its new man in charge, with Dan Hogan appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer, starting from September 1.
Councillors endorsed the appointment at the July Council Meeting.
Mr Hogan is a highly respected local government executive with more than 20 years experience across a broad range of services and disciplines, leading large and complex portfolios in the local government sector.
He began his public service career with the Municipal Association of Victoria and has since held senior leadership roles at the City of Melton, Brimbank City Council and the City of Kingston.
“We were seeking a CEO who is passionate about helping Council and communities succeed through strong partnerships and a demonstrated commitment to public service,” Mayor Councillor Lawrie Cox said.
“Councillors were all involved in the recruitment process, and we were united in our view that Dan has the right skills, experience and personal qualities to lead the organisation into the future.
“His experience in developing high-performing organisations that deliver outstanding outcomes for diverse and rapidly growing communities, exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication skills and proven track record of securing significant State and Federal Government investment made him the standout candidate.
“The appointment of Dan Hogan marks an exciting new chapter for the City of Whittlesea. On behalf of Council, I congratulate Dan on his appointment. We look forward to working closely with him to deliver positive outcomes for our community.
“I also thank Debbie Wood, Director of Infrastructure and Environment, for her outstanding leadership as Acting Chief Executive Officer. Her strategic and collaborative approach has ensured a smooth transition as we welcome our new CEO.”
Mr Hogan said he was looking forward to starting.
