THE KILMORE Art Society has a timetable for everyone to get excited about, as the studio is now open twice weekly and three exciting tutors are scheduled to deliver higher learning in drawing, water colour and oils this summer.
The art studio provides a welcoming space for local artists to bring their works to life while other artists are nearby sharing the journey. It also invites award-winning artists to host regular workshops for its members who wish to more deeply embrace their art. On top of extended opening hours, and three summer workshops, there are plans to make time for getting out of the studio together to paint or draw some local, but remarkable locations.
President Jeannette Jain said: “When the weather gets better, we will do “paint outs.”
“In a time when we all need inclusion, this is a relaxing way to spend your time.”
A fan of the paint out is Ben Winspear, a Melbourne-based painter with a portfolio of various subject matters, but his love for the Australian landscape really stands out and oils are his forte.
Mr Winspear will share important fundamentals of drawing and learning how to ‘see’ for the KAS’s first 2026 workshop on Saturday, February 7.
Nina Volke also enjoys getting out with her paints, brushes and easels and KAS is delighted that Ms Volke will run another workshop to share her skills around water colour. This time, the subject matter is the seaside and the workshop will be held on Saturday, February 28.
Salvatore Trigila is coming to town to teach the fundamentals of drawing with pencil and charcoal. Mr Trigilia has over 25 years teaching experience, this is a workshop you do not want to miss on Saturday, March 28. All workshops start at 10am and finish at 2pm and cost $70 for visitors, or $35 for members. Morning tea and refreshments are included. However, please bring your own lunch and materials.
To become a KAS member and to take advantage of a serene studio complete with new friends to make, refreshments and art supplies to use if you do not have your own, visit the studio to see for yourself. It’s open each Wednesday and Saturday, between 10am and 2pm at 15 Anvil Avenue, Kilmore.
The workshops sell out fast and bookings are essential. To reserve your space, phone Jeannette Jain on 0410 561 630.
