RURAL landowners in the City of Whittlesea will soon have the chance to apply for Council’s popular Environmental Works Grant Program, designed to help protect the region’s natural environment and encourage sustainable land practices.
The key initiative on offer can assist landowners in controlling weeds, caring for local plants and wildlife, and preventing land degradation.
The Environmental Works Grant Program, which has recently been expanded, offers funding for projects that protect biodiversity and now also supports sustainable farming initiatives. This means landholders will have access to a wider range of funding opportunities than ever before.
The program applies to properties in Whittlesea’s rural zones (Green Wedge, Green Wedge A, and Rural Conservation Zones). To be eligible, properties must be larger than eight hectares for the rate rebate.
Applications are open this week for the Environmental Works Grant Program and close on November 30.
For rural landholders, the programs offers valuable support to maintain healthy land while reducing costs and protecting Whittlesea’s environment for future generations.
