BACK bigger than ever, the City of Whittlesea’s Circular Fashion Market is expanding this August for a special winter edition. Council will be rugging up and bringing the market indoors, so residents can browse comfortably and snap up a bargain.
The market is held four times a year, offering an affordable and stylish way to shop while supporting slow fashion.
This time, the popular market is hosting up to 80 stallholders, providing a wider selection of clothing, accessories, and homewares. There are clothing options for all ages, sizes, and genders available.
Browse vintage treasures, designer items, and quality pre-loved clothing and accessories while sipping a coffee or hot chocolate. You might even find yourself a winter coat for a fraction of the usual price.
The Australian Red Cross will be there on the day for textile recycling collection, alongside live menders to fix any minor holes/rips in clothing.
Free coffee will be available for those who bring their reusable coffee cup. A toastie van will also be set up on site, with the first 100 attendees getting a toastie for free.
Get in early and join in on the thrill of the thrift – you never quite know what you’re going to find on the day.
City of Whittlesea Mayor Councillor Lawrie Cox said it was a great way to stock up.
“The Circular Fashion Market is a fantastic opportunity for residents to refresh their wardrobes, save money and reduce the environmental impact of fast fashion,” he said.
“Whether you’re looking for clothing for a newborn baby, an affordable pair of pants or shoes for that special occasion, there is something for everyone. With so many stallholders, you never know what hidden treasures you’ll discover.
“We are committed to helping our residents live sustainably by supporting a low waste, circular economy, and events like the Circular Fashion Market help make sustainable living practical and affordable.”
