TWO women are in serious but stable conditions in hospital after being struck by a car in Seymour yesterday morning.
According to Victoria Police Seymour Highway Patrol officers, the two women, aged in their 70s, were crossing Oak Street when a car turning out of Anzac Avenue struck them.
The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man, stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their inquiries.
Seymour Highway Patrol Acting Sergeant Andrew Wright said the women were crossing the road ‘legally and lawfully’.
A spokesperson for Ambulance Victoria said one woman was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with upper and lower body injuries.
The other woman was taken to the Northern Hospital by road ambulance with upper body injuries, also in a serious but stable condition.
