BEVERIDGE residents will soon have access to a fully bulk-billed local GP service, with Mitchell Shire Council teaming up to bring a new healthcare service closer to home.
Opening Saturday, June 6, the Annadale Family Medical service will operate from the Greater Beveridge Community Centre every Saturday from 8.30am to 5pm, with a general practitioner and onsite nurse.
Beveridge is one of Victoria’s fastest-growing communities. Until now, residents have had to travel 15–20 minutes to Wallan or Craigieburn for standard medical care – a burden felt most by young families. This partnership directly addresses that gap.
“Mitchell Shire is growing at a remarkable pace, and our community deserves services that keep up,” Mitchell Shire Mayor John Dougall said.
“Council actively advocates for the infrastructure and services our residents need to thrive – and access to a local GP is fundamental to that.
The clinic will offer a broad range of services, including general GP consultations, onsite receptionist and onsite nurse, immunisations and health checks, flu vaccinations, chronic disease management, diabetes and mental health care plans, WorkCover and TAC and specialist referrals.
“We know that Beveridge families have been travelling too far for too long just to see a trusted GP,” an Annadale spokesperson said.
“By partnering with Mitchell Shire Council, we’re bringing high-quality, continuous medical care right into the heart of this community.
“We believe every family deserves access to a premium, modern practice – regardless of their financial situation. That’s why every consultation at our Beveridge clinic will be fully bulk billed.”
Council will continue to work with health providers, government and community partners to ensure residents across the Shire have access to the services they need.
