MITCHELL Shire Council is inviting residents to a Beveridge Community Update on Wednesday, July 29, where it will report back on progress since last year’s Listening Tour sessions and publicly launch its Build Beveridge Station campaign.
The free session will be held at the Greater Beveridge Community Centre from 5.30pm to 7pm, with a presentation from 6pm. Residents can drop in, view project updates and information, and speak directly with Councillors and Council staff about the projects, services and advocacy shaping Beveridge’s future.
The session will also include the public launch of Council’s State Election advocacy priorities, including the Build Beveridge Station campaign, calling on the next State Government to commit to delivering the train station this rapidly growing community needs.
Residents will receive updates on key road projects including Camerons Lane and Old Sydney Road, community infrastructure, planning and development, as well as Council’s advocacy priorities for Beveridge and the broader region.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor John Dougall said the session was an opportunity to continue the conversation with the community and provide an update on the issues that matter most.
“Last year, we held two Listening Tour sessions in Beveridge and heard directly from residents about the projects, services and infrastructure that matter to them,” he said.
“This community update is our opportunity to come back, report on progress and share what’s coming next for Beveridge.
“Beveridge is changing rapidly and it’s important that we keep the community informed about the projects underway, what’s coming next and the advocacy needed to support that growth.
“Beveridge has around 11,700 residents today and is forecast to grow to more than 112,000 by 2046. We need to plan and advocate now for the transport and infrastructure that will support that growth.
“Residents will have the opportunity to hear the latest updates, ask questions and speak directly with the Councillors and Council staff delivering projects across Beveridge.
“Whether you’ve lived in Beveridge for years or have recently moved to the area, I encourage you to come along, hear the latest updates and be part of the conversation about Beveridge’s future.”
