LOCAL CFA firefighters participated in a gruelling 28-floor stair climb at the Crown Metropol building on the weekend.
Robert Boletti, Tom Alderson and Kasey and Jacob Styles took on the 12th annual Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb in support of the event’s $1 million fundraising target for Lifeline, Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and the 000 Foundation for the first time.

In the annual fundraiser, close to 133 teams participated wearing a burden of 25 kilograms of turnout gear including their breathing apparatus as a symbol of the significant health and well-being issues faced by first responders and their families on a daily basis.
The climbers were supported by the climb crew volunteers and medical support teams to cheer them on.
Local teams of four included Wandong and they raised, $9,405, Kalkallo raised $965 and Kilmore raised $2,654 to date.
Romsey’s team of five raised $4,050 and teams of six, Mitchell Shire Group raised $6,847, Hilldene CFA raised $6,391 and Beveridge CFA raised $2,964.
The Broadford CFA raised $14,183 with their team of 13.
