A FABULOUS cast of students is preparing to ‘break a leg’ on opening night as Alice in Wonderland premiers next Thursday evening at Broadford Secondary College Hall.
Their 2025 production includes over 30 actors, a technical team and set designers, and all ages are sure to adore their adaptation of Lewis Carrolls’ most famous fictional masterpiece written in 1865.
Since becoming the Performing Arts Director, Lisa Reed has seen many, many students grow in confidence.
“[In this play] there’s so many characters and this gives more students a chance to be on stage,” she said.
“Georgia Gidman (the Queen of Hearts) has painted many sets across the years and now she is playing a notable role.
“Ruby Boyd (Alice) is no stranger to acting. She appeared in the Seymour Performers Workshop Production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Evie Burke who played Nemo in last year’s production will be our narrator.
“My goal is to hand as much of the production over to the kids as I can.
“As for painting the set, they ask me what colour? And I say…it’s all yours.
“I’ve had wonderful assistant directors, and they keep me in line.”
Lacey Willis will play Alices’ Duchess, and Ruby Fletcher is donning the mad hatter’s hat.
Cami Lindstrom will appear as the Cheshire Cat and Celeste Smith will play the stuttering Dodo Bird.
Natalie Hannemann won’t be late as the White Rabbit and the Smith brothers will provide plenty of hilarity as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.

Ms Reed has another passion; wowing the audience with interactive experiences to make them feel part of Alices’ very, very fictional adventure.
Students completing their Vocational Major (VM) and the Victorian Pathways Certificates (VPC) are also on stage, catering.
