EVERY year, thousands of Australians come together on Sunday, May 11 for the Mother’s Day Classic, with the Seymour event drawing record crowds.

Over 300 community members registered to walk, run, or jog together to celebrate and remember those touched by breast and ovarian cancer and to raise life-saving funds for research.

A sea of people wearing pink and teal tutus, sunglasses, caps and t-shirts, started their fun run near the Lions Park, and participants used the Goulburn River Walking Track route organised by Adele Deverell and her team of mighty volunteers.

MP for Euroa Annabelle Cleeland (pictured above) donated reusable drink bottles to remind participants to use the Goulburn Valley Water hydration stations.

The Mitchell Shire Concert Band provided entertainment and the Rotary Club of Seymour supplied the sausage sizzle.

Over $12,000 was raised on the day and collectively, Team Shazbugs, Pucka Pookies, and Mitchell Shire Leisure Services raised an additional $8,613.

Well done to everyone.
