A PUBLIC transport blitz will deliver more train services across regional Victoria with the Seymour Line gaining an additional peak service in the morning and afternoon.

The change will give passengers more options when going to work or coming home. Detailed planning will come to confirm the timing of these services.

The Victorian Budget 2025/26 invests $52 million to deliver the new services.

The blitz will also complete and commission new signalling system, so trains can run more often and more reliably on some lines.

Big Build investments are delivering crucial road and public transport connections – this includes upgrading every regional rail line to deliver more frequent and reliable services.

The boost to train services builds on the more than 2,100 additional weekly services added across the regional and metropolitan train network since 2015.

Minister for Transport Infrastructure, Gabrielle Williams, said that the move will reduce congestion by investing in public transport.

“The line upgrade will deliver more services across Victoria and ensure passengers can make the most of their train services,” she said.

The Craigieburn line will also see an increase in services during shoulder peak and off-peak periods, with trains running at least every 20 minutes on the line, including late at night and on weekends.
