LAST Friday the Whittlesea community gathered to honour ANZAC Day with solemn remembrance and heartfelt participation.

The day’s commemorations commenced with a dawn service at 5:30 am at the Arch Monument on Walnut Street, where attendees paid tribute to Australian and New Zealand service members who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present.
Following the dawn service, a traditional gunfire breakfast was offered, fostering community spirit and reflection.
In the afternoon, the ANZAC Day march began at 2:30 pm from the Whittlesea Bowls Club, proceeding to the Arch Monument and the Soldiers Monument on Church Street. There was a big turnout despite the wet conditions.

The march featured participation from School cadets, members of the Returned Services League (RSL), and various community representatives, all uniting to honor the legacy of the ANZACs.
The day’s events underscored Whittlesea’s enduring commitment to remembering and honouring the courage and sacrifices of those who have served Australia and New Zealand.
