WOODSTOCK’S Melissa Rae and Adam Haldane warmly invites locals to head west for a car and bike show next month—a must see for petrol heads, and a step closer for the couple, also known as ‘Team Survivor’, to enter their third Mystery Box Rally (MBR).
The MBR challenges drivers to navigate some of New South Wales’ ruddiest roads, and requires that cars must be 25 years old or more, and roadworthy.
Starting at Broken Hill on Friday, August 15, the rally will finish just five days later on Wednesday, August 20—but who will make it?
Raising funds for vital cancer research, the event hopes to raise $1.5 million for the Cancer Council, with 300 participants currently signed up for the cause.
Ms Rae, a breast cancer survivor, has sadly seen many family members and friends lose the fight.
In their honour, she hopes to raise the $4000 entry fee required to have another go in the box seat at MBR.
Ms Rae will begin her fundraising journey with the Mystery Box Rally Car and Bike Show, where every dollar raised will support the Victorian Cancer Council.
Set for the first weekend of March, the carpark at Galli Restaurant in Plumpton will come to life with classic and vintage vehicles and motorbikes on display.
Entries are just $20 per vehicle and only a gold coin donation is required for the public.
There will also be ice creams, market stalls, and plenty of raffle prizes to be won on the day.
The Mystery Box Rally Car and Bike Show will be held at 1507 Melton Highway, Plumpton, on Sunday, March 2, between 10am and 3pm.
