Your Background:

• 3 years’ newspaper editor experience
• Bachelor Degree or higher in Journalism
• Proficient with InDesign, and Microsoft Office programs, in particular Word and Outlook
• Experience in managing teams in particular with writing newspaper articles, proofreading and press releases; also writing content for websites and managing social media accounts
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to get people to work efficiently under your management
• Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and listening
• Good working knowledge of the English language and its correct use with context and grammar
• High energy with determination to get the job done
• Current, valid driver’s licence
• Current working with childrens check

Local businesses of our community know the power of our advertising methods achieving a weekly reach of more than 16,000 in print advertising and 7,300 in digital marketing that is linked to our Facebook following, and over 4000 locals who subscribe to our digital newsletters and growing.Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be selling good advertising space to local businesses who want to strengthen their brand awareness of print and digital platforms. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• ability to work independently, selling into an existing portfolio of current and past clients
• Identifying new opportunities through vertical markets
• Being creative and presenting new marketing initiatives that convey to our clients
• Through our campaigns and quoting system – ‘You create the need’
• Achieving sales targets through superior client interaction
• Targeted appointment setting with ‘sandwich call’ capability
• Exceeding all KPI’s and KRA’s and meeting weekly deadlines - thriving in a fast-paced environment
• Create a structured approach to daily contact targets
• Working vertical markets that create momentum – ‘Always be closing’
• Maintain integrity and daily update of client information in our CRM system
• Entering advertising bookings into an automated system
• Gaining clear instructions from clients to ensure no mistakes with advertising
