AN inaccessible footpath in Kilmore is soon to be rectified.
For several years, the end of a footpath leading from Kilmore’s Sydney Street to the southern corner of the Aldi carpark has lacked a gradient, preventing many residents from utilising the path in a safe and comfortable manner.
Concerns for the footpath were first communicated to the Review in early January, who then raised the issue with Aldi, Coles, and Mitchell Shire Council, only to be informed that none of the organisations owned the footpath, but was rather owned by an owner’s corporation.
The concerns were then forwarded to the latter, who took immediate action to inspect the path and arrange the work required to improve the path’s accessibility.
While there is no timeline for the path’s transformation, white markings have since appeared surrounding the end of the footpath, indicating that work is set to begin soon.
