The North Central Review is an independently owned newspaper publishing company based in Kilmore that is responsible for publishing two community newspapers each week, covering communities within the Mitchell Shire

The Duck Inn Cafe Broadford warmly invites the community to their upcoming festive fundraiser to raise money for local cat shelter, Ingrid’s Haven.

Based in Sunday Creek, the shelter is run by founder Ingrid Arving, alongside her small team of volunteers. Tirelessly and for free, they dedicate their time to rescuing and re-homing as many cats as possible.

To support the shelter this festive season, Duck Inn Cafe owner Helen, along with her daughter and team will be hosting a Christmas High Tea on Thursday, December 12 from 12pm–2pm at Gavan Hall, Broadford, which boasts all-abilities access and plenty of parking.

Able to cater for gluten-free and vegetarian diets, Helen hoped to host around 50 people, and enticed attendees with all the high tea favourites.

“Our delicious fair will include sweet and savoury canapes, sandwiches, and freshly baked scones with raspberry jam and whipped cream,” she said.

“As well as a selection of teas, cocktails, mocktails, and fresh juices, there will be three door prizes and a raffle.”

All funds raised will go towards supporting Ingrid’s Haven to ensure that every cat is kept in good health over the Christmas period.

Bookings for the event are advised, and tickets are just $45 with mocktails, and $65 with cocktails.

To book, visit the Duck Inn Cafe at 101 High Street, Broadford, or phone Helen on 5717 2773 or if you prefer, email theduckinncafe2022@gmail.com.
