Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor Louise Bannister emphasised the importance of the event in fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of First Nations culture within the community.

“National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia,” she said.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate, and reflect on our journey towards reconciliation.”

The event will run from 11am to 3pm at the Recovery Hub, 4 Guild Street, Seymour this Saturday, June 1.
