Better facilities are on their way for students at Willowmavin Primary School with the appointment of a builder to upgrade the covered basketball/netball courts.
The upgrade has been funded through $195,165 from the State Government’s minor capital works fund project.
Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes announced Landbuild Pty Ltd had been appointed to for the project, which was set to create a modern physical education space.
Ms Symes said the minor capital works fund was about delivering the small projects that made a big difference while also supporting local jobs.
All projects are due to be completed by the end of 2022.
The Victorian Budget 2021-22 invested $20 million in the fund to improve learning spaces as well as the condition and character of schools. More than 300 government schools have been allocated funding.
Ms Symes said Willowmavin families were a step closer to getting the great local school facilities their kids needed to thrive.
“We’re making sure that our schools have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers and that every child is given every chance to succeed,” she said.
